What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

Where would we be without quilting? At QuiltCon 2024, held in Raleigh, North Carolina, last month, quilters from near and far gathered to share in our love of quilts! A few of us got to visit, so come take a look with us!

20 years can fly by in the blink of an eye. The 20th anniversary of Fat Quarter Shop truly snuck up on us, as so much has changed since the first days! Today we’re looking back on the past two decades of running a business while raising four kids (they were featured a lot on the blog as babies!), the wonderful employees we’ve made memories with (some have been here since our second year!), so much fabric, thousands of quilts, the milestones reached, and all the good times we’ve shared.

This week we are celebrating the 20^th anniversary of Fat Quarter Shop!

In June 2003 I launched a small business with a little website not knowing what I was getting into. I’d been quilting for 6 years and thought I was creating an outlet for my favorite hobby. My hope was to one day quit my day job as an accountant to work from home and raise a family. 

My idea was simple – as a quilter I loved fat quarter bundles but I couldn’t find them at my local stores or online.  So I created an online ...

20 years ago this month, I opened Fat Quarter Shop as a hobby. I never dreamed it would grow to include an incredible community of talented quilters and cross stitchers. I couldn’t predict the community we would build around quilting and cross stitch.

Each and every year we are reminded at Fat Quarter Shop of how thankful we are to be a part of your lives. Thank you for including us in your daily sewing and crafting adventures! I am sew excited to continue this amazing journey with you.
